Matthew and I drove up into Rist Canyon yesterday which is in the foothills of northern Colorado just west of Fort Collins. The smell of charred land and the view of homes with fire lines literally out their back doors – saved by fire fighters – was surreal. New growth already appearing was a reminder of the power and beauty of mother nature. And there were signs of gratitude everywhere. Hand painted signs hung on fences and porches: God bless the fire fighters! Thank you fire fighters! God bless all! And so on…
